The Second Global Chest Wall Surgery Conference, jointly organized by the Institute of Chest Wall Surgery (ICWS), the International Chest Wall Surgery Organization (ICWSO), and the Guangdong Association of Thoracic Diseases, will be held on July 18, 2026, in Guangzhou, China. Building on the success of the inaugural conference, this upcoming meeting continues to serve as a key international academic platform in the field of chest wall surgery.
Guided by the concpet of “ Co-Creating the Future”, the conference aims to further promote international academic exchange and collaboration, bringing together leading surgeons and researchers from different countries and regions to discuss current advances and evolving concepts in the diagnosis and treatment of chest wall deformities and related conditions.
Under the chairmanship of Professor Wenlin Wang, President of ICWSO and Director of the Institute of Chest Wall Surgery (ICWS), the conference will focus on advancing clinical practice through structured academic dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The academic program will cover a broad range of topics, including minimally invasive techniques for chest wall deformities, management of complex and asymmetric deformities, and revision strategies following prior surgical interventions. A key focus will be placed on refining surgical techniques and aligning emerging clinical concepts across different centers, contributing to a more unified and forward-looking treatment framework.
In line with the vision of “Co-Creating the Future”, the conference also seeks to further strengthen international cooperation among chest wall surgery centers worldwide, laying the groundwork for closer clinical collaboration, including surgical guidance, remote consultations, physician training, and more efficient patient referral pathways. Through the wider adopotion of standardized treatment protocols, access to high-quality chest wall deformity care can be improved, allowing patients to receive treatment closer to home without the need for long-distance travel.
By deepening global collaboration, accelerating knowledge exchange, and promoting standardized yet continuously evolving surgical approaches, the conference aims to jointly shape a future in which advanced and effective chest wall deformity treatment becomes more accessible worldwide, co-creating new possibilities for patients and surgeons across different regions.
