The Journal of Chest Wall Surgery (JCWS), the first academic journal in the world dedicated exclusively to chest wall surgery, has officially launched. Published by MedLiber Publishing Group and hosted by the Institute of Chest Wall Surgery (ICWS), this milestone marks a new chapter in the global development of the specialty—bringing greater standardization, academic exchange, and international collaboration to the diagnosis and treatment of chest wall diseases.
Dr. Wenlin Wang, the founder of ICWS and a world-renowned expert in chest wall surgery, serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal. The journal focuses on a wide range of chest wall deformities, including pectus excavatum, pectus carinatum, and asphyxiating thoracic dystrophy, etc., as well as other chest wall conditions such as chest wall infection, chest wall defect, and chest wall tumor, etc. It covers the latest surgical techniques, post-operative rehabilitation, imaging assessments, and case studies, offering a platform for doctors and researchers around the world to share the most recent medical advancements and improve treatment practices. The journal also encourages the submission of research on less common and newly identified chest wall deformities, helping to expand the boundaries of medical knowledge. By doing so, it aims to provide hope to patients who previously had limited treatment options, offering them new avenues for recovery and better quality of life.
The launch of the Journal of Chest Wall Surgery not only provides a platform for global chest wall surgeons and researchers to communicate and collaborate, but also brings greater hope and possibilities to patients suffering from chest wall disorders. Moving forward, with the spread of advanced technologies and treatment concepts, we look forward to helping more patients overcome chest wall conditions and regain their health and confidence.
